As co-founder of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion consulting and training firm DEI Consultants, LLC, Shivaun has experienced transformative events in her personal and professional life that shaped her commitment to being a thoughtful, inclusive, creative, and impactful global citizen.
Palmer’s corporate career has included work as an international media relations manager and Tourism Director, Head of Customer Relations for a global security and aerospace company and General Manager/Program Host of a financial news
talk radio network with stations in Dallas and Houston.
As an entrepreneur, Shivaun has launched several companies including a meeting-planning corporation that specialized in producing national trade shows and CME meetings for the healthcare industry. Her clients included Hospital Corporation of America (HCA), GlaxoSmithKline Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, and the Federation of State Medical Boards.
In 2012, Palmer created an educational website Plaid for Women, that was targeted to professional women and entrepreneurs that was recognized with a corporate diversity champion award by the National Diversity Council. Throughout her career, Palmer has collaborated with groups including the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas, Texas Muslim Women’s Foundation, the Metropolitan Black Chambers of Commerce and LGBTQI groups, engaging people from all walks to create environments where everyone is given an opportunity to be heard and contribute to the conversation.
Palmer is a passionate advocate for educating the public on the importance of mental wellness. She has conducted extensive research in the field of behavioral health, interviewing experts from across the country as well as those whose lives have been touched by mental illness. She is a QPR certified trainer for suicide prevention and education through the Jordan Elizabeth Harris Foundation located in Fort Worth, Texas.
Shivaun earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing and Communications from Stephen F. Austin State University.
